Richard Clark

Korean War, World War II

As a member of the United States Marine Corps, Richard Clark served his country during World War II and the Korean War.  He was part of the first wave of the invasion of Iwo Jima and witnessed the flag raising on Mount Suribachi.  During the Korean War, he participated in the Battle of Chosin Reservoir and was wounded at Heartbreak Ridge.

It examines how periods of conflict have profoundly shaped American society. It educates visitors about the costs of war, both on a personal and social level.
