Norward Cortez
World War II
Norward Cortez served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army Air Force. He entered the Army in August 1941, four months prior to Pearl Harbor and was stationed at Foster Field in Victoria, Texas for basic training. He attended advanced air training in Amarillo, Texas and then he was off to Lancaster and Bakersfield, California for aviation school. Norward would serve as an Aviation Cadet and later an instructor at Luke Air Base in Arizona as the war was coming to an end.Norward got out of the military at the end of he war, and then shortly afterwards, he reenlisted into the Army which soon became the Air Force. He served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
