James Coleman

Vietnam War

As a member of the United States Air Force, James Coleman served his country during the Vietnam War and the War on Terror during Operation Enduring Freedom.  He was a radar technician maintaining F4 Phantoms during 3 tours in Vietnam.  He would eventually earn his commission serving with the Security Police and then as a commanding officer with an A10 Thunderbolt squadron and would deploy to Afghanistan after 9/11.

It honors those who served in the military and on the home front and highlights the values they demonstrated in serving – duty, honor, and courage. It examines how periods of conflict have profoundly shaped American society. It educates visitors about the costs of war, both on a personal and social level.
